Actionable Data & Analytics
Actionable Data & Analytics is the term given to a data centered approach to bring granular, enterprise grade Business Information (BI) to the educational community. This approach is centered around 3 main phases:
- Accessing Data - Make accessing, collecting, and viewing data as clear, intuitive, and easy as possible.
- Understanding Data - Draw data stakeholders into understanding data validity, or “what the data means”. Data must accurately reflect or model the environment being studied, otherwise data driven decisions will be made from incorrect assumptions about the data’s connection to the real-world environment the data is attempting to model. Users must also be very carful to expose hidden bias or misconceptions, as well as not over-interpreting data to draw conclusions not indicated
- Acting on Data – At the core of this concept is the belief that good data should compel the stakeholder not only to take action, but also to take elegant, effective action to positively effect the environment being studied.
